MK 46 / M249 in .300 AAC Blackout

Image to follow

.300 BLK belt-fed conversionWeapons

A MK 46 / M249 re-barreled for the .300 AAC Blackout cartridge to create a belt-fed machine gun suited to suppressed use. Running the cartridge required only a new barrel and gas block.

  • 01

    Suppressed Fire

The conversion was built to create a suppressed belt-fed machine gun, taming the M249's muzzle blast so a team can still communicate while the gun is firing.

  • 02

    Barrel Swap

The gun switches between 5.56mm NATO and .300 BLK with only a barrel and ammunition change, using the same springs, bolt and other MK 46 components.

  • 03

    Subsonic and Supersonic

In testing the gun ran both subsonic 220-gr. loads and 115-gr. supersonic loads without adjustment, fed from a belt or a box magazine.
